What is A Brush with Kindness?
A Brush with Kindness is a program of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area that helps low-income homeowners by offering exterior home improvements at low cost. Volunteer teams work to improve the condition of homes by painting, landscaping, and performing minor exterior repairs at minimal costs to homeowners who would be unable to complete home repairs on their own. Able-bodied homeowners are encouraged to work alongside the volunteers in a cooperative effort. This program is for homeowners earning 60 percent or less of the median income (see Income Guidelines).
A Brush with Kindness focuses primarily on neighborhood beautification through the exterior painting and landscaping of homes. Labor is offered at no cost to homeowners. Minor exterior repairs are offered at the discretion of A Brush with Kindness. Homeowners are responsible for the cost of materials. Habitat can offer interest-free financing for homeowners who are unable to pay for the cost of repairs up front.
