Habitat for Humanity Breaks Ground on Old Bill's Home 4

JACKSON, Wyoming - October 25, 2004 - Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area is breaking ground on its eighth home in Teton County this week. All of the materials for this home are being purchased with funds raised through last month's Old Bill's Fun Run for Charities. The public is invited to attend a ground-breaking ceremony that will take place on the lot in Melody Ranch at 5:30 pm on October 28.

"We are so thankful for all of our donors and volunteers, who help our partner families to help themselves," said Executive Director, Terri Marino. "Old Bill's Fun Run presents an incredible opportunity for a group of donors to collectively sponsor the construction of an entire home. Thank you to all of the Old Bill's out there who have helped to build this dream."

This house will be the future home of Kimberly Shindell and her daughters, McKinley and Bean. The Shindell family is currently living in a government-subsidized rental apartment and is looking forward to ending their dependency on government assistance. The home will be a two-bedroom and will be sold to Ms. Shindell for $95,000, Habitat's cost for land and construction. The home is expected to be completed next summer.
